How much do I need to raise?

By signing up to the event, you are pledging to raise a minimum of £50. We recommend this is done via JustGiving, or call 0161 446 3988 for more information.

Can I enter a team as part of a business?

Yes, we’re encouraging all walks of life to get involved!

What is The Christie Charity?

All funds raised will support The Christie’s pioneering bloods closer to home service.

The service, which is funded by The Christie charity and run by Christie staff, operates from 10 convenient locations across Greater Manchester and Cheshire. The service is available at The Christie’s 3 local radiotherapy treatment centres (in Oldham, Salford and Macclesfield), as well as health centres, district hospitals and hospices.

How do I get to and from the event?

Sustainable travel is being encouraged both to and from the event.

Getting home

Finish: Castlefield, Manchester.
Castlefield is located close to bus and tram connections.

How long is the walk?

The route is 5 miles, and we estimate it will take around 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours to complete.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes! We’re pleased to say ‘The Bridgewater Way Walk in aid of The Christie’ is dog friendly. We ask that well-behaved dogs are kept on leads at all times. Please bring along poop bags and water for your dog. There will be a doggy water station along the route and at the finish line.

Is there toilets and facilities along the route?

Yes, there will be toilets and refreshments available throughout the route and at the start and finish line.

Will there be refreshments at the end of the event?

We’re looking forward to the finish line celebration – where there will be an event village for all to enjoy! Food and drink will be available to purchase and enjoy.

Will I receive a medal?

All participants will receive a t-shirt prior to the event. All finishers will receive a finish line goodie bag – complete with medal!
